What
do they all have in common?
Everything! Tendonitis, carpal tunnel, arthritic changes
at the base of the thumb (so common in females), are a result of a similar
problem.
There is a common weakness in the “mechano-physiology”
of the wrist that is repeated in all these diseases and it is just a
matter of time before the weakest link in your soft tissue gives way
to pain and disability. It has to do with chronic muscle, ligament and
tendon imbalances which allow collapse of the bone structure and the
vicious cycle then seems permanent. The reason so many surgeries and
conventional therapies were unsuccessful is that the symptom –
not the cause – was being addressed. Regardless of past history,
surgical or otherwise, my patients are all doing what they want to do,
when they want to do it for as long as they need to.
You
know, there’s a few things in life we just have to suffer from
or with that there doesn’t seem to be an answer for. This isn’t
one of them.
